Premier Wen Jiabao

Our Premier Wen Jiabao visited Hong Kong yesterday. I was watching TV about his visit and his speech. Premier Wen is such a polite and kind premier, he always likes quoting Chinese poems to express his meaning, and his brain is like a computer which could remember all the detail figures about Hong Kong without looking at his notes.

Below is reported in SCMP:

"Citing a poem written by Huang Zunxiang, the 19th century diplomat and a patriotic poet, he (Premire Wen) called on Hong Kong people to love Hone Kong and China and devote themselves to the betterment of the special administrative region.

Huang wrote the poem, based on an ancient myth about a bird dropping mud into the sea to reclaim land, to express his grief at foreign powers' aggression against China. The poem is a metaphor of he people's efforts to overcome difficulties."
